This is one of the best rose gardens I have seen in my life!
The dedication they put into making it magical, the variety of the roses offered and the magnificent perfumes make it a heaven on earth.
This rose garden was funded by David Austin over 60 years old. In the 1940s, David C. H. Austin OBE, a teenager, was already fascinated with roses. Soon after, this hobby became his life. He released his first rose, 'Constance Spry', in 1961. During his lifetime, he created an unrivaled collection that we can visit today. The family perpetuates the traduction by growing roses on their family farm in Shropshire.
As soon as I entered this garden, I felt transported by the colors and the perfumes into a gracious dance with the universe itself.
This place holds all the rays imaginable incarnated in Roses. They are so well arranged and treated with lots of love and attention, that you hear them singing in harmony while you walk amongst them. You meet with so many working bees, gathering pollen from roses and other flowers around. Far away you can hear the Peacock screaming, it looks like it is one of the major owners of the place and it makes you know it!
Most of the growing is still carried out by hand, just as it was at the very beginning. Every plant that they sell has been hand-budded, a traditional and intricate skill carried in this space.
At the end of the visit, you will find a very nice shop where you can discover everything about roses as they hold an amazing book collection, and if you want to get some beautiful gifts, well you will have multiple choices: candles, cards, soaps, dishes, etc. They are also reducing their plastic consumption becoming fully sustainable, so you can bring with you a nice handbag to carry your purchases!
This is one of the best places to create beautiful memories and re-find harmony in your relationships.
So bring your loved ones and have an intimate heart-to-heart conversation… Roses will help you say your truth most gracefully and will encourage you to listen with an open heart…
The only thing I didn’t enjoy about this place is that it closes early! If you want to go, know that they close at 5 pm or 6 pm depending on the season, so plan accordingly if you want to enjoy fully the gardens.
